Go from freelance designer amateur hour
to big boss (wo)man by building a better design business
for you and your clients.

(But c’mon. Mostly for you and your sanity.)

You’ve already got killer design skills, but consistently bringing in more prospects, managing clients from hell and getting caught in sticky project situations can put you in a downward spiral of sleepless nights, stress-eating, and hair-pulling out. Throw in managing your design business, balancing projects, and mastering your design process & workflow? It’s enough to make you want to dangle from the nearest ledge.

(Or, at the very least feeling a bit punch-y.)

After only one session, Natalie helped me organize and dig into my business finances where I was able to recover $1,200 in banking late fees and unpaid client invoices I didn’t even know I had.

Chrissy Marquardt

“Besides getting money back that, the biggest change in working with Natalie was getting really clear about my systems and my processes around running my web design business. Before, I had just kind of a hodge-podge process of working with clients – I would get the work done, but it was frustrating and felt like a struggle. She really helped me to simplify things and realize that less is more.

Natalie cares so much about me and my success, and even when I feel like I’m drowning, she’s there to reassure me that it’s a part of the process! Not only that, her experience and knowledge shine through, and she practices what she preaches! I love that after our calls, I knew what the next step was – she always gave actionable, practical and tactical advise AND challenged me to get outside of my comfort zone. She didn’t just provide the answers but helped me to find the answers by asking the right questions.

For the first time in a very long time, I feel excited, energized and renewed about my freelance business. I was seriously considering burning it all to the ground but after Natalie’s help and mentorship, I know I can do this. She helped to get a clear and realistic vision of exactly what I need to do and how to confidently raise my prices to attract better clients and energy into my business. If you’re struggling, you’re going to feel like a rock star after having Natalie in your corner! Hire her! With no hesitations!”

It’s become easier to book better clients and easier to sell services.

Natalie has helped me get clearer on my client processes and streamline them so everything runs smoother from start to finish. The biggest changes have been around educating me about Trello, how to customize it for my own biz, and clarifying my offerings. But the best part about working with Natalie has been the fun and laughter #1. I love the way she asks thoughtful questions that gently guide me to gaining insight and clarity about my business.

I love how Natalie quickly follows up with a recording of our call, notes etc. Her compassion, patience, and loving/generous/hilarious spirit are a delight through and through. I’m deeply grateful to call her a mentor AND friend. I would highly recommend working with Natalie to any designer friends I have. The value she brings to the table is indispensable.”

Natalie helped me create processes around my creative work and setting boundaries with clients.

Ethan Parker Wright

“After 10 years of working as an in-house designer, I finally made the jump to full-time freelancer. I struggled with valuing my services and experience and charging enough. But Natalie helped me create processes around my creative work and setting boundaries with clients. She also taught me how to bring my clients through a process that inspires them and helps them feel a part of the end result. After implementing some of what I’ve learned from Natalie so far, I’ve already received compliments such as, ‘Wow, you’re really professional!’ and ‘You really know what you’re doing!’ I feel confident now in taking my business to the next level. I’m not just a freelancer, but a fancy-pants designer who manages my clients’ projects professionally and they are happier with the process and end result. New designers or seasoned designers who want to boost their business would be lucky to call Natalie their mentor.”

I narrowed down my services to what I truly wanted to be offering, and raised my prices.

Lindsay Goldner

The best part about working with Natalie is that she just gets it, plain and simple. She has the patience of a saint (especially when it comes to explaining things like spreadsheet formulas!) and she understands that business is about so much more than just the bottom line.

While working with Natalie, I got clarity from delving into my positioning model which led to a huge shift in my business, and ultimately led me to commit to doing a full rebrand and transformation into No Fonts Given Co. I narrowed down my services to what I truly wanted to be offering, raised my prices, and didn’t shy away from using the bright colors that I’m known for using throughout my website.

Now, I’m treating my business more like a business than I ever have before, and that’s huge. That makes me feel like more of an expert, but also like more of a full-on badass, even though this is something I’ve been doing — and supporting myself with— for 6 years, and I know that will come across to my clients as well. Stemming from this, although it’s new and unfamiliar and omgpee-my-pants-scary, I’m leaning into this new brand and higher prices and (in no small part due to Natalie’s encouragement and mentoring), and really building a brand that I’ve been percolating and dreaming of but wasn’t confident enough to fully step into before.

If you’re thinking of working with Natalie, throw your money at her, immediately. And then congratulate yourself, because it’s one of the best decisions you’ll have ever made for your business.”

Have some questions?

Who is Designer Mentorship for?

Graphic and web designer freelancers who are stuck in the business side of running their business and need a mentor that can guide them through a gamut of tricky client confrontations, to project management skills, to a better website and portfolio to attract better paying clients.

Who is Designer Mentorship not for?

Anyone who isn’t a practicing graphic designer or web designer. I’m also not teaching the ins and outs of CSS, HTML, Photoshop, Illustrator or InDesign. We’ll only be talking about your freelance business. I will not be teaching you how to be a Designer.

Do you offer any guarantees?

Look, peeps. Business be tricky. So here’s a lawyer-y disclaimer that’s got to be said: There is no promise or representation that you will make a certain amount of money, or any money, or not lose money, as a result of using engagement together. As with any business, your results will vary and will be based on your personal abilities, experience, knowledge, capabilities, level of desire, and an infinite number of variables beyond my control, including variables I (or you) have not anticipated. There are no guarantees concerning the level of success you may experience. Each person’s results will vary. There are unknown risks in any business, particularly with the Internet where advances and changes can happen quickly. The use of my information, products and services should be based on your own due diligence and you agree that we are not liable for your success or failure.

Do you have a cancellation or refund policy?

You’re familiar with the term “time is money”, right? Well, my time is valuable. So, if you book me, then that means others can’t. So, I have to charge in full for that time. Therefore, all sales are final.
